Banks filed to repossess fewer than 10,000 Palm Beach County homes last year, the lowest number since 2006 when real estate and the economy at large began its tailspin.
Just 9,857 new foreclosures were filed countywide in 2013, according to a measure released Tuesday by the Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller. That’s a 36 percent reduction from 2012 and a whopping 68 percent decrease from the height of the foreclosure crisis in 2009.
